Bruce MacMillan CA is co-founder of BANDWIDTH a boutique consultancy specializing in destination marketing strategy and MICE brand development.
Bruce has been an association leader in the global meetings industry for 25 years working with business enterprises on every continent, creating and leading organizations through strategic evolution to high performance success throughout his career.
He was president/CEO of Meeting Professionals International – the largest global organization of meeting professionals – from 2006-2012 and president/CEO of Tourism Toronto from 2003-2006. Bruce also developed and led Vancouver’s successful 2010 national Olympic Winter Games bid from 1997-1999. During his 25+ year career in destination/MICE marketing that began at Tourism Vancouver, he received numerous awards including twice being named one of the Top Twenty most influential people in the global MICE industry.
Bruce advises MICE industry destinations on securing more lucrative business through innovative event sales and marketing strategies. Over the past 18 months Bruce served as a consortium partner in the DMAI Destination NEXT global destination marketing initiative as well as a partner in the development of the Regional Indianapolis Tourism Master Plan. Other recent client engagements include the development and implementation of a three-year strategic MICE industry plans in Jordan and Mexico. Bruce also serves as strategic advisor to a number of US MICE destinations and the BestCities Global Alliance.
